Catherine McKenna – facilitator

Catherine MckennaFun Facts

I am addicted to doing handstands.
I am in love with an Indian ringneck named JJ.
I would spend my last $5 on Greek yoghurt.

Approach at Tablelands Purpose Summit for Business 2.0

Goal achievement using a reverse plan model addressing obstacles, self-doubt and regular monitoring of progress and making changes.

More about Catherine McKenna

I grew up in PNG, studied law and travelled widely before spending 20 years in the Torres Strait.

I was never able to negotiate motherhood and working in law without feeling abject failure for abandoning my children.

That lead to goal setting to feel some success when I wasn’t in paid work.

My first goal was to earn an income as an artist after I stopped working in law.

At that time, I had never completed a work of art. I achieved that goal.

Then I became a yoga teacher.

I moved on to write two books, one that won an award, while I was studying teaching.

I now work casually as a teacher and am a third-year Exercise and Sports Science student working towards my next goal of becoming a freelance writer.

2019 is 20 years since I set that first goal.
