Your Business Model Canvas

Lots of you have asked for more workshops to learn the basics of how to fill in a Business Model Canvas (BMC). Why are startups and running businesses of all sizes and shapes demanding to know more about this cheap and accessible replacement for those old-fashioned, static and expensive Business Plans of the past?

Business Model Canvas

BMC’s help us entrepreneurs understand our own business and work out where we are and where we might be going – and where not to go! Ideally, a team or owner runs through the BMC not just once (which can take an hour but could be much more time intensive as this document forces us to think!), but iteratively on a regular basis or at least every time your situation changes (would that be daily for you like it is for me?)

There are a few tricky bits to utilising this modern tool of the business trade. This Friday, we will work through basic definitions and approaches to this sometimes miraculously useful diagram that is meant to help you get the best feel for what your business is and where the gaps are in your planning.

Participants will be encouraged to work through a BMC between the 7 August Zoom session and the 14 August session. On 14 August, the questions raised during that week’s trial will be discussed and we will all try to help each other produce a refined business plan in the form of a BMC.
